At what cost for the Earth?
Large scale wind farms are very efficient and at the end of the day we are safe guarding the environment, not destroying it. Without renewable energy green house gases will increase as will global warming.A small concrete footprint, that if placed correctly would be invisible, come the day they are no longer needed.
